Metrical Study of the Clavicle and Shoulder Width in the Korean Male

Abstract
|

|
The length of the clavicle is known to be yariable according to the race, sex, age, height and habit, The length of the clavicle and shoulder width is the basic data for manufacturing clothes and tools in cluding gun
s, but its data of the Korean is
not
sufficient. Thus, we examined the length of the clavicle, biacromial length, shoulder width, stature and body weight of the Korean adolescence and acquired the average, corelation of its data.
We dealed with 102 combat medics who were studying in Armed Forces Medical School(average age: 20yr) and the 101 freshmen and sophomores of Armed Foreces Nursing Academy)average age: 18yr) in 1991.
@ES The results Were as follows;
@EN 1. The length of the cavicle was 16.3cm(right), 16.1cm(left) in male, 15.3cm(right), 15.1cm(female) in female and it was longer than antecedent's who died before 1945.
2. The biacromial length was 33.4cm in male and 32.6cm in female. The shoulder width was 43.6cm in male and 43.5cm in female.
3. The length ofn the clavicle was more corelated with stature9r=0.30~0.46) than body weight(r=0.10~0.22), but the shoulder with was more corelated with body weight(r=0.49~0.50) than stature(r=0.13~0.37)
